Roman Chernobelskiy has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Roman'smost recent role was as a Senior Software Engineer at DataStax, starting in September 2018. Prior to that, Roman worked at IBM for five years from January 2013 to September 2018, where they served as a Software Engineer. At IBM, they were responsible for designing and implementing a custom CI/CD process based on Vault, Helm, and Kubernetes. Roman also led the internal transition to Kubernetes and created an OpenStack cloud driver for the DS8000 enterprise storage server.
Before joining IBM, Roman worked as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Linktops Corporation from October 2011 to May 2013. During their tenure, they oversaw the development of the company's website and built advanced analytics system components. Roman also implemented various APIs for interoperability with platforms such as PayPal, Twitter, Facebook, Filepicker.io, and Amazon FPS.
Roman was self-employed from September 2010 to December 2012. Roman worked as a Software Engineer and Consultant, collaborating with clients on projects such as dynamically creating a truck driver handbook using Python and developing an HTTP proxy to facilitate switching a health insurance claims web service to a new standard.
In 2011, Roman also worked as a Student Researcher at the University of Arizona for a short period. Roman invented a graph drawing algorithm and presented it at the International Symposium on Graph Drawing.
Prior to their other roles, Roman served as the Lead Software Engineer at Alicat Scientific, Inc. from May 2006 to August 2010.
From 2007 to 2011, Roman Chernobelskiy attended the University of Arizona, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
