Matthew Close

Matthew Close has extensive experience in the field of security, spanning over three decades. Currently, they work as a Sr. Principal in Security at Daugherty Business Solutions. Prior to this, Matthew held senior leadership roles at CenturyLink and Savvis/CenturyLink, where they were responsible for architecting advanced security products and managing large security teams. Matthew also served as the Director of Managed Security Services at Cable & Wireless and Savvis, overseeing the growth of the department and playing a crucial role in corporate acquisitions. Matthew's career in security began at Exodus Communications, where they held managerial and engineering positions. With a strong background in security engineering and IT, Matthew's expertise has been shaped through their various roles in renowned organizations such as GeoNet, VeriFone Internet Commerce Division, and Hoover Institution Library.

Matthew Close attended Stanford University from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree in English Literature. Prior to that, they attended Rocky Ford High School from 1988 to 1991. In 2015, Matthew completed a Full Stack Web Development Certificate program at freeCodeCamp. Outside of their formal education, they also have a certification in Network Analysis in Python from DataCamp.
