Richard Butt, P.E., LEED AP has extensive work experience in civil engineering and project management. Richard currently holds the position of Senior Civil Engineer at Stimmel Associates, P.A. since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Civil Engineering at DAVENPORT starting from 2018. From 2004 to 2018, Richard worked at KCI Associates of North Carolina, P.A. as a Senior Associate and Project Manager. Richard also gained experience as a Civil Engineer at Beeson Engineering from 2000 to 2004. Richard started their career as an Engineer-In-Training at Parsons Brinckerhoff from 1998 to 2000 and Clark Nexsen from 1997 to 1998. Before that, they worked as an Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding, A Division of Huntington Ingalls Industries from 1996 to 1997.

Richard Butt, P.E., LEED AP pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning with their Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Wake Forest University from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they attended North Carolina State University, where they studied Civil Engineering and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from 1993 to 1996.
