Johann Malaper

Johann Malaper is an experienced investment professional currently working at Davidson Kempner Capital Management since September 2020. Prior to this role, Johann was part of Goldman Sachs' Special Situations Group from May 2017 to September 2020, having also worked in the European Special Situations Group during that period. Earlier, Johann served as an Investment Banking Analyst specializing in Financial Restructuring and Special Situations at Houlihan Lokey from December 2014 to May 2017. Johann's career began with internships at Credit Suisse, Houlihan Lokey, DC Advisory, and J.P. Morgan, focusing on leveraged finance and M&A. In addition to a successful finance career, Johann was a professional windsurfing athlete between 2002 and 2010, earning multiple championships, including the World Windsurfing Champion title in 2006. Johann holds a Master in International Finance from HEC Paris and a Master in Management from London Business School, complemented by a Bachelor in Law, Economics, and Management from université de la Polynésie française.
