Scott Edwards has accumulated a diverse range of work experience throughout their career. Starting in 1988, they served as a Naval Officer in the US Navy until 2008. Following their naval service, they joined Strategic Command (STRATCOM) in 2006 as a JFCC-IMD BMD Planner, where they led planning efforts and integration of Missile Defense Agency (MDA) assets with PACOM, NORTHCOM, and STRATCOM. For the next three years, they worked as a Senior Liaison Officer for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense efforts to the Colorado Springs commands at General Dynamics Information Technology. In this role, they provided support to Aegis BMD exercises and wargames both domestically and internationally. From 2011 to 2012, they served as the Flight Test Branch Chief at USSTRATCOM, JFCC-IMD, where they applied Test and Evaluation strategies for identifying and coordinating Warfighter test requirements and objectives for Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Flight Test events. Moving on to Parsons Corporation in 2012, they took on the role of Aegis BMD LNO to Colorado Springs, functioning as the Senior Liaison Officer for Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense efforts and providing exercise and wargame support. Lastly, in 2021, they joined Davidson Technologies Inc. as a Strategic Planner responsible for the Strategic Planning of the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) within the Missile Defense Agency, which involves constructive simulation modeling of OPIR space systems, TES, and ITW/AA ground processing.
Scott Edwards received a BA in History from The Citadel, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they pursued further education at the U.S. Naval War College from 2000 to 2001, earning a Master of Arts (MA) degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.
