Jim Gilbert

Jim Gilbert has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Jim is currently serving as the Head of Composite Pressure Vessels at Dawn Aerospace since November 2022. Prior to this, Jim worked at Plastic Omnium as the Composite Pressure Vessel Engineering Group Manager from May 2021 to October 2022, and as a Project Engineer from December 2017 to May 2021. Before joining Plastic Omnium, they worked at Optimum CPV as a Project Engineer for a brief period in 2017. Earlier in their career, Jim worked as a Hermetic Package Engineer at Lumentum from May 2015 to August 2015, as a Junior Scientist at Smiths Detection in 2014, and as a Physics Technician at Grand River Hospital from September 2013 to December 2013. Jim's early experience includes working as a Hermetics Packaging Engineer at Lumentum from September 2012 to April 2013.

Jim Gilbert completed their Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Physics - Honours Co-op at the University of Waterloo from 2010 to 2015. Jim then pursued their Master's Degree in Materials Engineering, specifically focusing on Polymers & Composite, at KU Leuven from 2015 to 2017.
