Kari Petrie has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. From 2001 to 2005, they worked as an Associate Editor at The Minnesota Daily. Then, they interned as a Producer at The Washington Post from June 2004 to August 2005. Starting in May 2005, they joined St. Cloud Times as a Reporter, covering public safety, neighborhoods, and city issues until July 2015. In 2015, they joined DAYTA Marketing as a Brand Manager and later progressed to the role of Senior Brand Manager. In 2018, they became the Director of Project Management, overseeing the execution of marketing strategies and working directly with clients. In 2020, they assumed the role of Director of Client Services at DAYTA Marketing. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Operations at DAYTA Marketing, where they lead digital project management, creates advertising strategies, and manages client services.

Kari Petrie pursued their Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota from 2001 to 2005.
