Matt Bonner has a diverse work experience across various organizations. Matt started their career as a Tax Consultant at Ernst & Young, LLP in 1991 and worked there until 1996. Matt then interned at the US Securities and Exchange Commission in their Enforcement Division in 1997. Following that, they worked as a Senior Associate at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP from 1999 to 2007. In 2007, they joined DCM Ventures as the Chief Operating Officer & Legal Partner. Additionally, they are a Founding Member of TechGC since 2016 and a General Counsel Advisory Board Member at the National Venture Capital Association since 2018. Currently, they serve as an Investment Committee Member at Cal Poly Ventures Fund.
Matt Bonner attended San Marin High School in an unspecified period of time. Later, they studied at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1988 to 1991, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting. Subsequently, they attended Georgetown University Law Center, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1999.
