Leo van Beek

Head of Product at De Energiebespaarders

Leo van Beek has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Leo started their career at Boekhandel Karssen as a Salesperson from June 2007 to April 2011. Leo then worked as a Design Intern at EXO-L, where they were responsible for logo design, brand identity, and marketing media. From December 2014 to July 2015, they served as an MSc Graduation Intern at Clay Solutions, working on designing a safe and trustworthy unlocking system.

Leo also worked as a Designer at Kaizen Gym, where they were involved in developing the brand identity and strategy, applied across various platforms. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Designer at qraphiq, where they designed brands, websites, and experiences for clients while studying.

Leo joined De Energiebespaarders in January 2016 as a Lead UX/UI Designer and ReactJS Developer. Leo was responsible for user experience, front-end development, and design. Leo managed the development team and acted as a Scrum Master. Leo held this position until June 2019 when they became the Manager of Development & Design. In this role, they were responsible for managing the development team, gatekeeping brand identity, and designing the product. Starting from February 2022, Leo has been serving as the Head of Product at De Energiebespaarders, leading product development.

Leo also had a brief experience as a Product Designer at Building Blocks Energy from January 2020. Overall, Leo's work experience demonstrates their expertise in design, development, and management roles within different industries.

Leo van Beek's education history begins in 2003 when they attended De Goudse Waarden, where they pursued a VWO degree in Nature & Health. After completing their secondary education, they enrolled at Delft University of Technology in 2009. Leo pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design Engineering, completing this program in 2012.

Continuing their studies at the same institution, they completed a Minor program in Sports Innovation from 2011 to 2012. Leo's educational journey culminated in 2015 when they obtained their Master of Science degree in Design for Interaction from Delft University of Technology.
