Roel Laban

Roel Laban is a skilled sustainability professional with extensive experience in managing and developing sustainability programs across various sectors. Currently serving as the Sustainability Manager at DSG since April 2021, Roel leads the Sustainability Program 2025, focusing on enhancing the environmental impact of building and construction materials. Prior roles include Sustainability Specialist at G-Star RAW, where Roel developed the Circular Roadmap 2025 and conducted a comprehensive GHG footprint analysis, and Sustainability Advisor at HEMA, responsible for overseeing sustainability initiatives and managing value chain projects. Roel’s early career includes roles as Head of Sustainability (interim) and Junior Sustainability Advisor at HEMA, as well as an internship at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Australia. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in International Relations with a focus on International Political Economy and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Groningen.
