Managing Director Spain at DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR

Leopoldo Reaño Costales has extensive work experience in the private equity industry. Leopoldo is currently the Managing Director Spain at DeA Capital Alternative Funds SGR, the private equity arm of DeA Capital. Prior to this, they worked at H.I.G. Capital as the Principal and Head of TMT Europe, where they were responsible for growth, LBO, and restructuring investments in the Iberian Peninsula. Leopoldo also served as a non-executive director in multiple portfolio companies. Before H.I.G. Capital, Leopoldo was a Partner at Gala Capital Partners, an independent Spanish private equity firm. Leopoldo was a member of the Investment Committee and served as a non-executive director in various portfolio companies. Leopoldo also gained experience as the Chief Executive Officer at Nucleo de Comunicaciones y Control SL, where they successfully led the financial and operational turnaround of the company and oversaw its sale to a listed trade buyer. Prior to that, they worked in corporate finance at Credit Suisse.

Leopoldo Reaño Costales has a diverse educational background. Leopoldo recently completed the ADECA program in Alta Dirección de Empresas de la Cadena Alimentaria at the San Telmo Business School in 2021. In 2016, they attended the MIT Sloan School of Management for an Executive Program focused on Communication and Persuasion in the Digital Age.

Leopoldo holds a BSc in Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, which they obtained between 1996 and 1999. Prior to that, they pursued their studies in Economics at the Université libre de Bruxelles and completed a Candidature degree from 1993 to 1996. Leopoldo also earned a Baccalaureat in D - Science from the Lycée Français de Belgique - Brussels in 1993.

Earlier in their academic journey, Leopoldo attended Lycée Gerson - Paris from 1986 to 1993. Additionally, they completed their secondary education at Nuestra Señora del Recuerdo between 1980 and 1986.

In terms of certifications, Leopoldo obtained the Certified Advisor (CAd) designation from the CFA Society Spain in 2021. Leopoldo also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification, which they acquired from the CFA Institute in 2004.
