John Welbourn-Smith

John Welbourn-Smith has held a variety of roles in the IT industry since 2000. From 2000 to 2007, they were the Director of Code Mine, where they were responsible for proof of concept software development, testing, documentation, project management, mentoring, and presentations to potential investors and partners. In 2007, they took on the role of IT & Data Centre Operations Manager at Education City, managing a team of three system administrators and having budget responsibility for the IT area. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a DevOps Engineer at MMT Digital, where they created and supported development, QA/test and production environments for a variety of clients. Since 2019, they have been a DevSecOps Engineer at DeadHappy.

John Welbourn-Smith attended Leek High School from 1976 to 1984. John then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Computation from The University of Manchester. In 2019, they earned three certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (October), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate (March), and AWS Certified Developer - Associate (February).
