Iris van Son

Iris van Son currently holds the position of Secretaris and Partijleider at De Vrije Student, serving since December 2021. Additionally, Iris is the Regiocoördinator for MEP Flevoland at Model European Parliament Nederland, contributing to the organization of youth conferences across Europe. Active in the debate community, Iris functions as a jurylid in the Benelux Debatcompetitie for DebatUnie and holds multiple roles at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, including raadslid in the Faculty of Arts and the University Council. Experience also includes positions as barhoofd at De Negende Cirkel and freelance debattrainer for Stichting Nederlands Debat Instituut. Educational background encompasses a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and International Organizations from the University of Groningen and prior studies at Emelwerda College and the University of Cambridge.
