McKinley Nahum is a Research Associate II in Process Development Engineering at Debut, having advanced from a Research Associate I role. Prior experience includes a position at the University of Colorado Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science, where McKinley contributed as a Walczak Lab Research Associate, publishing research on Alzheimer's disease and optimizing assays for tau phase separation and aggregation. McKinley also engaged in a senior design project that involved designing a process plant for methanol production from waste biomass and conducted a metabolic engineering project focusing on an E. coli strain for detecting Alzheimer's disease precursors. Earlier experience includes a research internship at DMC Biotechnologies, where McKinley automated filtration processes and developed a control interface, as well as serving as a research assistant at the CU Sports Medicine Clinic. McKinley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
