Vicki Lane has over 16 years of professional experience in the field of user experience design and information architecture. In 2005, they began their career as a Software Engineer and Usability Engineer at Honeywell Ltd. Vicki then moved to Different in 2008, where they worked as an Experience Architect and Senior Experience Architect. During this time, they consulted on projects for Macquarie Edge Online Trading Platform, Macquarie Personal Online Banking Portal, Bigpond Sports AFL Video Player, ABC Sports News redesign, and AMP Financial Services Online Portal redesign. In 2011, they began working at Kobo Inc. as a Senior Information Architect, and at MacLaren McCann as a Senior Information Architect. In 2012, they began working at The Globe and Mail as a Senior User Experience Designer. In 2013, they began working at Rogers Communications as a Senior User Experience Designer and at Blast Radius as a Senior Interaction Designer. Finally, in 2021 they began working at DECKARD Technologies as a User Experience Lead. In 2022, they were part of the team at Square V that won the award for Best Professional Services Firm at the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards.
Vicki Lane completed their High School at Moreton Bay College from 1996 to 2000. Vicki then went on to The University of Queensland where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Software from 2001 to 2004. Vicki then furthered their education by obtaining a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Studies from Deakin University from 2009 to 2011.
