Oscar Savolainen has a diverse work experience. Oscar started their career in 2012 with a summer internship at Bluesky Positioning in France, where they worked on testing compatibility of GPS receivers with individual phone models. In 2014, they graduated with a First Class Electronic and Electrical Engineering Undergraduate degree from the University of Strathclyde. From 2015 to 2017, they worked part-time hospitality shifts in a variety of roles and was a Brand Ambassador for Mash Staffing. In 2017, they were employed as a summer intern at National Grid - ETO in the Long Term Strategy team. From 2018 to 2021, they were a PHD Student at Imperial College London in Neural Data Analysis and Signal Processing for Wireless Intracortical Brain-Machine Interfaces. During their PhD, they founded a website that web-scraped the top Google results for a given search query and performed abstractive text summarisation with Natural Language Processing. In 2021, they took on the role of CEO, Full/stack and NLP Engineer at Autoscholar Ltd. Currently, they are a Research Engineer at Deep Render.
Oscar Savolainen has a diverse educational background. Oscar began their studies in 2011 at the Centre International de Valbonne, where they completed the International Option of the French Baccalaureate or OIB, focusing principally on Science. Oscar then moved on to the University of Strathclyde in 2014, where they earned a BEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering with International Study in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Finally, in 2018 they began their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Neural Data Analysis at Imperial College London, which they are currently pursuing.
