Dr. Prashant Rao

Dr. Prashant Rao has extensive work experience in various HR roles. Dr. Prashant most recently served as the Vice President & Head of Corporate Human Resources at Deepak Group Co since November 2018. Prior to that, they were the Managing Business Partner & Assistant Vice President - HR at Reliance Industries Limited from June 2013 to November 2018. Dr. Prashant also worked as the General Manager & Head of HR for Equipment & Transformers Operations in Schneider Electric from June 2009 to June 2013, and as the Head of HR (Engagement, Learning & OD) in Essar Steel Limited from August 2008 to May 2009. Dr. Prashant was previously the Head of HR for SEZ Projects in Hazira at Essar Steel Limited from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, they held the position of Associate General Manager - Human Resources at Vedanta Resources from September 2005 to August 2006, and Manager - Human Resources at Aditya Birla Group from August 1995 to August 2005.

Dr. Prashant Rao's education history includes obtaining an MSW (Master of Social Work) degree in Human Resources from Udaipur School Of Social Work - Rajasthan Vidyapeeth - Deemed University from 1993 to 1995. Dr. Prashant then pursued a PGDip (Post Graduate Diploma) in Training and Development, specializing in OB (Organizational Behavior), Training Methodology, and Evaluation, from the Indian Society for Training & Development in New Delhi from 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, Dr. Rao completed their undergraduate studies at Maharshi Dayanand Sarswati University, where they earned a BSc degree in Chemistry from 1990 to 1993. Their early education was completed at Lakshmipat Singhania School in JK Gram, Kankroli, Rajasthan. Dr. Rao also holds a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) in HR Business Partnering from Udaipur School Of Social Work.
