Fen Zhao

Fen Zhao, Ph.D., is an experienced NLP Engineer currently serving as a Senior NLP Engineer at DeepScribe since August 2022. Prior to this role, Fen was a Senior NLP Research Scientist at Viafoura, leading multiple AI projects to build the company's AI capabilities. Fen also held positions as an NLP Data Scientist and NLP Engineer at Alexsei and NLMatics, respectively, focusing on legal document retrieval and developing state-of-the-art NLP models. Academic contributions include a Research Assistant role at the University of Windsor, where Fen designed algorithms and published research, and a Visiting Research Scientist position at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, working on large-scale scholarly data. Fen holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Windsor, an MSc from Xidian University, and a BS from the same institution.
