Michael Piscopo

Principal Engineer at DeepSig

Michael Piscopo has over 28 years of work experience in the fields of engineering, security, and software-defined radio. Michael started their career in 1992 as an Aerospace Systems Engineer at Veda, Inc. where they worked on projects related to UAVs, aerial target systems engineering, signals analysis, and real-time distributed computing systems. In 1995, they joined Lightship, Inc. as an IT Manager and Senior Security Engineer, where they worked on factory automation software development, application development, and networking. In 2003, they founded PeriNet Technologies, where they provided cutting-edge network engineering and security services. After four years, the company had grown to $1M in revenue. In 2008, they joined ING as the Director of IRM/Information Security Officer and oversaw a team of seven individuals. In 2009, they began working as a Security Consultant and Director of Technical Security Consulting Services for Delta Risk LLC, A Chertoff Group Company. In 2018, they provided consulting expertise in developing a low-cost drone detection solution as an SDR Counter-Drone Consultant. Currently, they are a Principal Engineer at DeepSig Inc., leading the development of an analytics platform that combines a big-data approach and ML to provide spectral awareness and analytics.

Michael Piscopo obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech between 1988 and 1992. In 2015, they obtained an Amateur Radio License from the FCC. In 2017, they obtained a FAA 14 CFR part 107 Remote Pilot (drone) license from the Federal Aviation Administration. Michael is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)².
