Jay Paz

Jay Paz has a strong background in information security and leadership roles. Jay is currently the VP of Customer Delivery at DefectDojo since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Cobalt as the Senior Director of Delivery and the Director of Pentest Operations, Community, and Research from 2020 to 2023. From 2016 to 2020, Jay held various roles at Rapid7, including Director and Senior Manager of Penetration Testing and Consultant Development. Jay also worked at Rackspace as a Senior Manager and Manager of Security Engineering from 2014 to 2016. Before that, they gained experience as a Staff Security Engineer at Bazaarvoice from 2012 to 2014 and as a Senior Developer at Optaros from 2011 to 2012. Jay started their career as an Information Security Analyst at the University of Texas at Austin from 2008 to 2011 and as a Senior Systems Analyst from 2001 to 2008. Jay began their professional career at the Texas Department of Human Services as an Eligibility Specialist from 1996 to 2001.

Jay Paz attended Park University from 1999 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Services. Prior to that, they attended The University of Texas at El Paso from 1992 to 1993, but no degree or field of study information is available. Jay Paz also holds several certifications in information security, including GIAC Information Security Professional, GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester, GIAC Secure Software Programmer - Java Certified Professionals, and GIAC Security Essentials Certification. These certifications were obtained between 2008 and 2014.
