Megan Bastick is currently serving as a Gender and Security Fellow at DCAF since August 2005, focusing on the integration of gender perspectives in the security sector. Megan has extensive experience as a trainer on legal frameworks for military human security tasks at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom since November 2019 and has contributed as a consultant on Feminist Foreign Policy for The Scottish Council on Global Affairs in early 2023. Previous roles include research positions at the Dallaire Centre of Excellence for Peace and Security and ClimateXChange, where focus areas included NATO's strategic concept, human security, and gender-responsive climate programming. Megan has also held advisory and training positions with Crown Agents, the University of Edinburgh, Beyond Borders Scotland, and UN Women, emphasizing gender, conflict, and security. Educational achievements include a PhD in Law/International Relations from the University of Edinburgh Law School and a Masters of International Law from the University of Cambridge.
