Cameron Fancey has a diverse and extensive work experience in the defense sector. Cameron is currently serving as the Associate Centre Director at Defence Research and Development Canada. Prior to this role, they held positions at the Department of National Defence, where they served as the Senior Combat Systems Engineering Manager and Sensor Systems Manager. Cameron also worked as a Graduate Student at the Canadian Forces College. Before that, Cameron held various positions within the Canadian Forces, including OIC Maritime Modelling and Simulation Cell, Combat Systems Engineering Officer on HMCS ATHABASKAN, and Above Water Weapons Sub Section Head. Cameron began their career as an Assistant Combat Systems Engineering Officer on HMCS WINNIPEG and Project Officer, followed by Naval Combat Systems Engineering training on HMCS ALGONQUIN.
Cameron Fancey has a diverse education history. In 2000, they began their undergraduate studies in Computer Hardware Engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada/Collège militaire royal du Canada, which they completed in 2004, earning their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree. Cameron proceeded to pursue their postgraduate education in Guided Weapon Systems at Cranfield University from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Master of Science degree. Later, in 2017, Cameron attended the Canadian Forces College, where they focused on Defence Studies and achieved a Master of Defence Studies degree in 2018. Alongside their academic achievements, they also obtained a certification as a Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute in March 2012.
