Peter Dobias has a diverse work experience spanning different organizations and roles. Peter began their career in 2005 as a Defence Scientist in Operational Research and Analysis at Defence Research and Development Canada. Over the years, they held various positions such as Operational Research and Analysis Advisor and Project Manager. From 2013 to 2018, Peter served as a Senior Defence Scientist and Lead in Maritime Forces Pacific Operational Research, where they focused on areas like Maritime Domain Awareness and Force Structure Development. Peter also worked as an Acting Director and Associate Editor during their time at Defence Research and Development Canada. In 2017, Peter took up a role as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria's School of Business. Prior to that, they were a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Doctoral Student at the University of Alberta.
Peter Dobias has an extensive education history. Peter obtained their PhD in Space Plasma Physics from the University of Alberta, where they studied from 1999 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their Mgr (MSc) in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Comenius University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996.
In addition to their academic degrees, Peter Dobias has also obtained several certifications. Peter became a Data Scientist with Python through DataCamp in December 2018. Peter obtained the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2017. Furthermore, Peter obtained the STK Basic certification from AGI (Analytical Graphics, Inc.) in August 2014.
