Michelle Bullock

Michelle Bullock has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michelle is currently working as the Chief People Officer at DEFEND, where they started in February 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of People & Culture at DEFEND from March 2022 to February 2023.

Before joining DEFEND, Michelle worked at Westpac New Zealand as a Talent Acquisition Consultant on a fixed-term assignment from March 2021 to March 2022.

In 2020, Michelle was a Senior Recruitment Specialist at Absolute IT, specializing in Information Technology, Digital, and Data. Michelle managed key accounts and successfully completed end-to-end recruitment assignments for various industries.

From 2018 to 2020, Michelle worked as a Business Manager at Medacs Healthcare, where they set up and managed the Commercial Medical Division across New Zealand and Australia. Michelle was responsible for recruiting executive sales and marketing assignments and implementing successful plans with measurable goals.

Prior to that, Michelle worked at Focus Recruitment Limited from 2013 to 2017 as a Sales Manager. Michelle reinvigorated the business, improved processes, and achieved record-breaking sales performance. Michelle also worked as a Team Leader and Senior Consultant at Synergy Consulting Group NZ from 2010 to 2013, where they marketed and delivered recruitment solutions for sales and marketing professionals.

Michelle Bullock attended Waldegrave School from 1986 to 1991. In 1994 to 1995, they studied at The Institute of Recruitment Agencies and obtained a Diploma in Recruitment Practice. From 2013 to 2014, they pursued a Diploma of Management at the Australian HR Institute. More recently, they completed the Fundamentals of Agile program at Radically New Zealand, which ended in 2020.
