Derek McBride

Derek McBride is a Portfolio Manager at Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) since September 2020. Prior to that, Derek worked as an Investment Banking Associate at Evercore from July 2017 to March 2020. Derek also has experience as a Summer Associate in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs for a brief period in 2016. Before transitioning to finance, Derek served as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Marine Corps from July 2007 to April 2015. Derek holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a B.A. in Russian and Eastern European Area Studies from Miami University. Additionally, Derek completed a brief study program at the International University in Moscow in 2006.
