Hildur Smáradottir has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Hildur is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Defigo since March 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Board Member at NOSCA from February 2019 to March 2021. During their tenure at NOSCA, the organization achieved Arena Cluster status in the Norwegian Innovation Clusters program and transitioned to NOSCA Clean Oceans, a forum combating ocean pollution.
Hildur also worked as the Chief Commercial Officer at Miros from August 2018 to March 2021. During their time at Miros, they played a crucial role in transforming the organization from an engineer-driven company to a modern commercial entity. This involved standardizing the product offering, introducing a new business model, and implementing customer-focused sales strategies.
Furthermore, Hildur has held positions at Varnish Software AS and Varnish Software Group. At Varnish Software Group, they served as the Vice President of Global Marketing from January 2016 to July 2018. During their tenure, the company transitioned from managing sales and marketing on a spreadsheet to establishing an effective sales and marketing machine, resulting in significant growth. Hildur also held the role of Director of International Marketing and International Marketing Manager during their time at Varnish Software.
Before joining Varnish Software, Hildur worked as a Product Communications Manager at UNIT4 N.V. from August 2010 to May 2012. Prior to that, they held various roles at UNIT4 R&D, including Product Communications Specialist and Technical Communicator, from June 2006 to July 2010.
Hildur started their career as a Journalist at Morgunbladid from January 2006 to April 2008. Hildur also briefly worked as a Business Analyst at Deloitte and pursued an MBA at Copenhagen Business School from 2003 to 2004.
Hildur Smáradottir attended various educational institutions and obtained a range of qualifications. Hildur pursued a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Háskóli Íslands (University of Iceland) between 1995 and 1998. In 2000 and 2001, Hildur enrolled at Háskóli Íslands again to study Journalism. Later, from 2003 to 2004, they attended Copenhagen Business School, where they obtained a Master of International Business Administration (MBA) degree in the field of study called Master of International Business Administration. Additionally, in March 2023, Hildur completed a certification in High Impact Communication from Dale Carnegie Training Norge.
