Sarah Ratcliffe, PhD, currently serves as Team Leader in the Central Science Division at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, a position held since October 2021, and previously worked as a Senior Scientific Officer at the Chief Scientific Adviser’s Office. From July 2016 to October 2021, Sarah was an Associate Project Director at Cello Health Communications (Europe), following roles as Project Manager and Project Executive. Prior to this, Sarah held a Care Navigator Project Management position at Southern Health for a brief period in 2016. Sarah’s academic background includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at both the University of Bristol and the Medical Research Council, and completing a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Cambridge, where Sarah also worked as a Physiology Supervisions Tutor. Sarah began their career with a BMedSci (Hons) in Medical Sciences from the University of Birmingham and has experience as a Product Quality Supervisor at Wyeth and a Placement Student in Virology at Imperial College London.
