Andres Acosta Vera is a structural engineer and academic with extensive experience in teaching, research, and design. Currently serving as a Lecturer at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, Andres teaches courses in Structural Earthquake Design, Structural Dynamics, Structural Concrete, and Seismic Risk Assessment. Additionally, as a Designer at Degenkolb Engineers since August 2022, valuable contributions are being made to engineering projects. Previous roles include Graduate Research Assistant at Stanford University, where research focused on the dynamic characteristics of buildings, and Leader of the Structural Engineering Department at Consultora Vera & Asoc., overseeing structural analysis and documentation. A strong educational background includes a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering and a Master's degree from Stanford University, along with a Civil Engineering degree from ESPOL.
