Bhaskar Chowdhuri

Vice President Of ASIC Development at DeGirum Corp.

Bhaskar Chowdhuri has extensive work experience in the semiconductor industry. Bhaskar is currently working at DeGirum Corp. as the Vice President of ASIC Development, a role they started in April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Director ASIC Development at the same company from September 2018 to June 2022.

Before joining DeGirum Corp., Bhaskar worked at Semtech as a Principal Engineer for a brief period in August and September 2018.

From 2015 to 2018, Bhaskar was a Senior Manager Digital ASIC at Rockley Photonics Inc., where they worked on the development of the world's first 1.2Tb integrated optics ethernet switch chip. Bhaskar played a key role in architecting and designing important functional blocks for this chip.

Bhaskar spent a significant part of their career at Marvell Semiconductor, where they held the position of Principal Engineer from 2005 to 2015. In this role, they led the development of WiMAX MAC and SoC for mobile handsets. Bhaskar also collaborated closely with the CTO on various SoC development solutions.

Before joining Marvell Semiconductor, Bhaskar worked at Jaalaa Inc. as the Director of ASIC Design from 2004 to 2005. Bhaskar led a small ASIC team in the development of radio chipsets for wireless keyboard and mouse applications. Bhaskar also contributed to the development of low-power radio chips for E-INK displays.

From 2002 to 2004, Bhaskar was a Design Manager at NVIDIA. In this role, they led the design of various projects.

At the start of their career, Bhaskar worked at Marvell Semiconductor (2000-2002) as a Staff Design Engineer, where they played a crucial role in the development of Marvell's first WiFi chipset. Bhaskar was involved in SOC architecture and the design of functional blocks such as CPU bridge, PCI, and USB.

Before joining Marvell Semiconductor, Bhaskar worked at STMicroelectronics from 1998 to 2000. Bhaskar held the position of Staff Design Engineer and IP Development Manager, contributing to the development of the world's first single-chip PC with 80486 CPU and integrated graphics. Bhaskar worked on critical components such as L2 Cache controller, CPU to internal bus bridge, 2D graphics engine, and video scaler.

Bhaskar Chowdhuri pursued their Master's Degree in Computer Science from 1990 to 1992 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
