Laura Alford

Laura Alford is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Senior Assistant District Attorney at DeKalb County District Attorney's Office since November 2021. Prior experience includes working as an Assistant Solicitor for Gwinnett County Government and an Associate Attorney at Adair & Baker. Laura has also held positions as a Legal Intern at Atlanta Legal Aid Society and a Litigation Associate at Georgia State University College of Law, where responsibilities included assisting students in trial techniques. Additionally, Laura completed a Legal Externship with the Fulton County Office of the Solicitor General and held roles as a Graduate Research Assistant and Student Attorney at the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where representation in federal tax controversies was a focus. Early legal experience includes an internship with the Newton County Public Defender and a research role at Georgia State University College of Law. Laura earned a Doctor of Law (JD) from Georgia State University College of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs with a minor in Political Science from Kennesaw State University.
