Shawn Weiss

Shawn Weiss is the current Project Manager at Deksia. Shawn has over 8 years of experience in various coordination roles. Shawn's most recent role was with Geskus Photography, Inc. where Shawn served as the Special Projects Coordinator from September 2012 to September 2020. In this role, Shawn was responsible for setting up and maintaining a variety of projects throughout the organization, including implementing new software and technology solutions, establishing vendor relations, managing wholesale clients, and workflow supervision.

Prior to joining Geskus Photography, Shawn served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Bridging Communities from August 2011 to August 2012. In this role, Shawn implemented a donor database and transferred the information from previous years to the new system. Shawn also created manuals for the program and provided training for the staff. In addition, Shawn led a committee for a fundraiser walk that involved soliciting corporate sponsorships, recruiting participants, creating promotional materials, and organizing volunteers. Shawn also answered questions from members of the community about the services offered by the organization and provided recommendations to partner organizations for areas of service not offered by Bridging Communities.

Before AmeriCorps VISTA, Shawn was a Lab Assistant at Western Michigan University Faculty Technology Center from October 2010 to May 2011.

Shawn Weiss graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Shawn'story and Geography.
