Marla Coppolino

Marla Coppolino is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in biological illustration, research, and education. As a Bird Academy Course Developer at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology since June 2020, Marla creates engaging content for online courses aimed at conserving biological diversity. With a background as a Research Associate in malacology at both the Paleontological Research Institution and the Delaware Museum of Nature & Science, Marla investigates the abundance and diversity of land snails and slugs in northeastern USA ecosystems. Marla’s artistic skills are showcased through a longstanding career as a Biological Illustrator and Fine Artist, specializing in invertebrate animals. Educationally, Marla holds a Master of Science in Zoology from Southern Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia, alongside previous roles including Director of Business Development at Cornell University and Technical Writer at Advion BioSciences.
