Rich Heffron began their work experience in 1984 as the Director of the Department of Real Estate & Housing and lobbyist for the City of Wilmington. In 1992, they joined the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. Rich held this position until 2014 when they were promoted to President of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. Rich also held the role of Senior Vice President during their tenure at DSCC.
