Chen Dong is a Senior Scientist at Delonix Bioworks Ltd. since October 2022, focusing on the development of engineered microbial vaccine candidates through synthetic biology, genome engineering, high-throughput screening, and pre-clinical assays. Prior to this role, Chen was a Senior Scientist at Cathay Biotech Inc. (November 2019 - July 2022), where projects aimed at improving R&D efficiency were led, and automated strain engineering processes were designed and optimized. Academic experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Washington from September 2014 to August 2019, developing CRISPR-based transcriptional activation tools, and as a Teaching Assistant in the same institution, coordinating organic chemistry laboratory activities. Previous research at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from September 2011 to January 2014 involved contributions to three different laboratories, resulting in a publication in the Journal of American Chemical Society. Chen holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
