Albert Klein Tank is an accomplished climate scientist currently serving as Director at Delta Climate Center and Professor of Sustainable Transitions for River Deltas in a Changing Climate at Utrecht University, both since January 2024. Klein Tank is also an Honorary Professor in Climate Science at the University of Bristol. Previously, leadership roles were held at the Met Office as Director of the Hadley Centre for Climate Science and Services and at Wageningen University as a Professor of Climate Services. Extensive experience includes tenure as Senior Scientist and Manager at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute and as a Scientific Coordinator for the World Meteorological Organization. Academic training includes a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from Utrecht University and a Master’s in Physical Geography from the same institution, supplemented by education at University of Bristol and Wageningen University & Research.
