Tamaryn Tesselaar has over 10 years of experience in the legal sector. Tamaryn began their career in 2010 as a Candidate Attorney at Catto Neethling Wiid Inc., a boutique family law practice. In 2012, they moved to Riley Inc. as a Litigation Attorney. Later that year, they joined the Department of Justice & Constitutional Development as a Legal Advisor, where they facilitated the promulgation and formal launch of the Small Claims Court for the areas of Mitchells Plain & Khayelitsha, and established 18 Small Claims Courts in the Western Cape Region. In 2014, Tamaryn joined TurnerLegal Consultancy (Pty) Ltd as the Director of the Public & Administrative Law Department. During this time, they drafted the Western Cape Provincial Land Transport Act. Tamaryn also worked as a Consultant at Bettini Formigaro Pericu Stuidio Legale, where they negotiated and drafted governmental agreements, transnational company agreements, and the terms of an awarded tender. In 2016, Tamaryn joined Delta Energy & Communications, Inc. as Senior Vice President, where they performed regular administration and management activities, represented the corporation, and submitted projects for annual reports and financial statements to the Board of Directors.
Tamaryn Tesselaar has a comprehensive educational background. Tamaryn obtained a Matric Exemption from Herschel Girls' Senior between 1999 and 2003. Tamaryn then went on to obtain an LLB from the University of Cape Town between 2004 and 2009. In 2012, they were admitted as an Attorney of the RSA by The Cape Law Society and also obtained the Right of Appearance in High Courts of the RSA from the same institution. In 2015, they obtained an Opinion Writing Course from LEAD, an Amended B-BBEE Codes of Conduct Seminar from How2Tender, and a Tender Workshop from Trade World. Finally, in 2017, they completed an IoT: Business Implications & Opportunities course from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
