Laurens Vermeulen

Laurens Vermeulen is a Design Engineer at DEME Group since September 2021, specializing in various tender projects involving quay walls, building pits, foundations, and concrete and steel designs. Key projects include the Fehmarnbelt link, Princess Elisabeth Energy Island (MOG2), and the Oosterweel/Canal tunnels, with expertise in marine outfitting design, concrete design, fender design, tolerance management, site engineering, and Python automation. Previous experience includes roles as a student worker at Jan Roobaert Aannemingen and Hobéco, as well as a student intern at Sweco. Laurens holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from KU Leuven and has completed an Athens course on Complex Coastal Hazards at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
