Sheridan Chambers

Sheridan Chambers has demonstrated experience starting, running and growing business over the last eight years. In his latest venture, Sheridan reprises his role as the individual responsible for facilities, administration, finance, sales, marketing, and client services. A vision for cost control and vendor relations as well as a strong background in solution selling have made Sheridan successful in these roles many times in the past.

Previous to work at Denim Group, Sheridan was President of BrandDefense, a privately-funded intellectual property protection company. BrandDefense helped clients identify misuse of their intellectual property on the Internet. This service automated the process of sorting and organizing information so that clients could more easily enforce their intellectual property rights. In his capacity as President, Sheridan was responsible for strategic direction, finance and accounting, sales, and marketing.

Prior to BrandDefense, Sheridan served as Vice President and General Manager of Rare Medium, San Antonio. Along with Dan Cornell, Sheridan was the senior-most team member the Rare Medium staff in San Antonio. He had P&L responsibility for the office, and ultimately for the entire company-wide Java development effort. This responsibility included offices in Detroit, San Antonio, New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sydney, Australia. Sheridan managed his office to over $1.5 million per month in billings with a 60% net margin — the highest in the company.

In 1996 Sheridan Chambers founded Atension, Inc., a professional services firm that was acquired by Rare Medium. Atension was one of the leading Java/Open Source development teams in the United States at the time of its acquisition by Rare Medium in late 1999. This team, completely self-financed and organically grown, employed 20 people and had annual billings of over $1 million.

Sheridan has been recognized as North Chamber Entrepreneur of the Year, one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, one of Texas Monthly’s “30 Multimedia Whizzes Under 30,” and one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2011 Best CFOs.

Sheridan, a long-time supporter of the local technology community, currently serves on the board of the Emerging Technology Fund Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization (ETF RCIC) and is President of Technology Advocates of San Antonio (TASA).
