George Miyata has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. George began their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at MatriCal in 2008 and later joined the Senior Design Project at Gonzaga, where they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Team Member on a project sponsored by Boeing. In 2010, they served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder, assisting students and grading for an Aerospace Structures class.
In 2011, George joined Northrop Grumman and held various positions, starting as a System Engineer and later progressing to Deputy System Engineering Lead, Deputy Project Manager, and finally Project Manager. In these roles, they oversaw multiple activities, managed scope, cost, and schedule, identified growth opportunities, and engaged in strategic planning and proposal work.
Currently, George is working at DeNOVO Solutions, LLC, where they have held roles such as Systems Architect, Director of Agile Programs, and the current role of Director of Innovation and Technology. As Director of Innovation and Technology, they are responsible for leading innovation initiatives and leveraging technology advancements in the company.
George Miyata attended Gonzaga University from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership and a minor in Philosophy. Following this, from 2010 to 2012, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder.
In addition to their formal education, George Miyata has obtained several certifications. In February 2014, they earned a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the Northrop Grumman Corporation. In November 2015, they received an INCOSE ASEP certification from INCOSE. Furthermore, they attained a Certified SAFe® 5 Program Consultant certification in February 2020 and a Certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant certification in April 2023, both from Scaled Agile, Inc.
