Cynthia Gallegos

Cynthia Gallegos, a Colorado Native, graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish in the fall of 2016. Most of her career has been in the nonprofit sector from grassroots organizing to executive leadership. She found herself in higher education first as a Metropolitan State University of Denver work-study student in the counseling center. Later, she worked as a temporary hire in the office of admissions and as a financial aid counselor in the office of financial aid and scholarships. She transitioned to the Community College of Denver for the opportunity to work more directly with students. She enjoys working with students while intentionally providing proactive suggestions and positive encouragement. She believes it is important to ask for what you want and need from others. She works in harmony with others by remaining true to her personal values, and treating people respectfully and with dignity.

She is the proud mother of a student-athlete, Eddie Gonzales, who is working on his MBA while playing on the football team at UNC in Greeley CO. She is the guardian of her mother Mercedes Gallegos de Vasquez, who lives in a nursing home, and a proud founding member of Latina Gives, a philanthropic giving circle.
