Diana considers Rio Rancho, New Mexico home. As the oldest daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, Diana views education as a tool to success for herself, her family, and her community. She is the first person in her family to get a college education and has since dedicated her career to making that possible for others. She received her bachelor’s degree from Whitman College in 2011, and in 2015 she received her master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Denver (DU). While at DU, Diana had the opportunity to work directly on building college access and success initiatives for low-income students of color. As part of her coursework, Diana was introduced to Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) by volunteering at the Bruce Randolph School Future Center. She fell in love with the organization, the important work, and the commitment to students. Diana feels an overwhelming responsibility to give back to her community by leveraging opportunities for others and standing up for educational equity. Now as a DSF College Advisor, Diana gets to work with both students and families to make educational dreams come true.
