Maria Rangel Leon

Maria was born in Mexico City and migrated to the United States at the age of 9. She has called Colorado her home for 18 years and considers herself a native. Maria earned a bachelor of science degree in Mathematics from the Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) and is the first in her family to go to college. During her time at MSU Denver, Maria worked at the Institute for Women’s Studies and Services, where she developed an intersectional feminist lens and helped serve underrepresented students and community members. Maria is DACAmented. Her college pathway was anything but traditional, and she is dedicated to creating a more accessible pathway for students like her. Maria provides support to information technology services at Denver Scholarship Foundation as Salesforce Administrator/Business Analyst and is excited to use her analytical skills to create a more equitable Denver.
