Principal Policy Officer - Animal Welfare at Department of Environment and Primary Industries

Cathy Pawsey has extensive experience in animal welfare policy and legislation management, currently serving as the Manager of Animal Welfare Policy at the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action since July 2018. Prior to this role, Cathy held the position of Principal Policy Officer - Animal Welfare at the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources since June 2010. Additional roles include Senior Policy and Legislation Officer at the Victorian Department of Environment and Primary Industries, Manager of Policy and Education at the Department of Primary Industries, and Coordinator of Legislation and Policy at the Victorian Department of Primary Industries. Early career positions include Project Officer at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Animal Health Officer at the Department of Environment and Primary Industries, along with experience as an Inspector at RSPCA Victoria. Cathy holds a Diploma of Management from Chifley Business and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agriculture from Longerenong Agricultural College.
