Mark Smedley has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mark started their career in 1992 as an Operations Officer at Statesman Enterprises, where they worked until 1995. In 1995, they briefly worked as a Farm Hand at P & J Lynch before joining Curtin University as an Administration staff member. Mark later became an assistant at Stanborough Secondary School, where they volunteered as a Boarding School assistant.
In 1998, Mark took on the role of Office Manager at Furniture Care Australia for two years before briefly working as a University bookshop assistant at Curtin University. In 2001, they joined Public Trustee as a Senior Trust Manager, where they managed finances for individuals with mental disabilities, supervised a team, and made decisions on legal and financial matters.
From 2017 to 2018, Mark worked as the Organizational Services Director (volunteer role) at RAW Impact, where they helped disadvantaged people in Cambodia. Mark oversaw finance, legal, compliance, and organizational change during their time there.
Most recently, Mark has been working at the Department of Justice since 2019. Mark started as a Senior Investigator Advocate and later became a Principal Investigator Advocate in December 2021. Unfortunately, the end dates for their roles at the Department of Justice and RAW Impact are not provided.
Mark Smedley attended Carmel Adventist College from 1984 to 1988, where they completed their high school education. From 1989 to 1993, they studied at Murdoch University, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on Marketing and Management.
