Ross Stanger is an experienced cultural heritage professional currently serving as the Manager of the Cultural Management Group at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in Tasmania since 2016. In this role, Ross leads a team of specialists to manage the cultural values of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area in collaboration with Tasmanian Aboriginal people. Prior experience includes positions as Senior Heritage Advisor at BHP, where Ross delivered heritage survey work and managed compliance with heritage legislation, and as Senior Archaeologist at Archaeological and Heritage Management Solutions, leading field surveys and advising clients on heritage matters. Educational qualifications encompass a Master in Cultural Heritage Management from Deakin University and various degrees including a Bachelor of Social Science (HONS) in Archaeology from James Cook University.
