Alison Dann

Alison Dann is an experienced plant pathologist, specializing in molecular diagnostics, currently working at the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE) since January 2013, where responsibilities include the development and testing of diagnostic molecular methods for plant pathogens. Prior roles include researcher at the Food Safety Centre at the University of Tasmania, focusing on microbial communities in vacuum-packed meat, technical officer at TASAG ELISA conducting viral disease tests on grain imports and plants, and research assistant positions at the Tasmanian Institute of Agricultural Research and CSIRO, engaging in genetic analysis and pest detection. Alison Dann holds a PhD in Molecular Microbial Ecology from the University of Tasmania and a BSc (Honours) in Marine Science from James Cook University.
