Patricia Gruber

Patricia Gruber serves as the Science and Technology Adviser to the Secretary of State at the U.S. Department of State, where engagement with academic and private research communities informs foreign policy priorities and promotes international collaboration. Prior experience includes roles as Technical Director at the Office of Naval Research Global, where oversight of technology awareness and research collaboration occurred, and Vice President of Maritime Systems at Battelle, with profit and loss responsibilities. Patricia Gruber also contributed as Deputy Director at Penn State University's Applied Research Laboratory and as Director of Research at the Office of Naval Research, among other positions. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Penn State University, as well as a PhD in Applied Marine Physics and a Master of Science in Physical Oceanography from the University of Miami.
