Christopher Ireland is a highly experienced scientist specializing in materials chemistry and photocatalysis. As Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at DePoly since September 2018, Ireland leads innovative research initiatives. Previous roles include Scientist at EPFL from December 2015 to February 2021, where work focused on the computationally targeted synthesis and characterization of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for applications such as carbon capture and photocatalytic water splitting. Ireland also served as a Marie Curie Fellow, furthering research on light-active MOFs. Prior research positions at the University of Cambridge and University College London involved the characterization and synthesis of photoactive materials for air purification and water splitting technologies. Ireland holds a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Science from The Open University.
