Angela Sarmiento

Angela Sarmiento, CPACC, has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Angela began their career at Trilogy Software Inc. in 1999 as a Data Team Manager. Angela then joined The University of Texas at Austin in various roles, including Desktop Support Specialist, E-Learning System Support Specialist, and Instructional Technology Specialist. Angela also worked at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where they held positions such as E-Learning Specialist, LMS Support Specialist, and System Analyst. In their most recent role at Deque Systems, Inc, Angela serves as an Accessibility Consultant, conducting accessibility consulting and testing according to WCAG 2.0 standards. Angela possesses expertise in inspecting code for HTML, CSS, and ARIA and has hands-on experience with various accessibility testing tools.

Angela Sarmiento, CPACC, pursued their undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin from 1990 to 1996. During this period, they successfully earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. In May 2023, Angela obtained the IAAP Certified Professionals in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification from the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
