Duncan McClure

Duncan McClure is the CTO at Derma-Tec. Duncan has been with the company since October 2016 and in their current role, they lead the effort to turn customer and retailer needs into technical requirements for a wearable biosensor, its production, and handling. Duncan has guided product development from concept to prototypes and has been instrumental in developing the chemistry, printing, and manufacturing methods.

Duncan has created and oversees research and manufacturing partnerships with two universities and a contract manufacturer. Duncan also jointly manages the product line of two technologies under development. In addition, they have facilitated major design reviews, technology strategy reviews, and acts as project manager for development projects.

Prior to joining Derma-Tec, Duncan was an intern manufacturing engineer at IEE where they led an effort which reduced average cycle time of a critical internal distribution system by over 30% while increasing its capacity through improvements in organization, layout, and storage. Duncan followed ISO and European quality standards and norms while also identifying opportunities for improvement and leading a small team to create solutions, assess, implement changes. Duncan also coordinated with engineering, production, logistics, maintenance, and quality departments.

Duncan McClure has a Master of Business Administration from University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business, a Master's degree in Nanoscience and Microsystems Engineering from The University of New Mexico, and a Bachelor's of Science in NanoEngineering from UC San Diego. Duncan also has an IB Diploma from Ocean View High School in the College/University Preparatory Diploma Program. Duncan is certified by the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP), by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
